Watoto Preparations

Hi girlies :)
Today I'm headed down to Seagulls (a theatre on the southern side of the coast) to get ready for Watoto Children Choir's arrival. My local church are hosting the kid's choir for a weekend as they do an Australian tour. For any of you girls who don't know who Watoto are...

They are an African kid's choir dedicated to improving the way of life for children in Africa. Most of these kids are orphans. Watoto means 'children' in Swahili.

So yes! Very excited I am :)

And another one...

Friday, 17 April, 2009 - 12:15pm
Just because I like to post things...

Here's my 'Like Mother Like Daughter' LO for Deb's April Challenge:  Textures.
The idea was to use at least three different textures on your LO eg. paint, kindy glitz, felt etc.

So here 'tis!

High Society

Friday, 17 April - 12:00pm
Just to let you all know,

Thought I'd show you a bit about High Society :)

High Society is a musical with a book by Arthur Kopit and music and lyrics by Cole Porter.Based on the Phillip Barry play 'The Phillidelphia Story' and the musical screen adaptation it inspired, High Society, the plot centers on pretentious Long Island socialite Tracy Lord, who is planning a June 1938 wedding to an equally pretentious executive George Kitteredge when ex-husband Dexter Haven arrives to disrupt the proceedings. Additional comic complications arise when tabloid reporter Mike Connor, who is there to cover the wedding, also falls for the bride-to-be.
This play is where such classics as True Love, Who Wants to be a Millionaire and Well, Did you Evah! began.

I'm really enjoying this play and it opened last night :)
Although I'm just a chorus member, it's heaps of fun!

Here are some pics taken at rehearsals :)

The start of Act 2 - everyone's a little tipsy by now :)

Tracy and Dexter - Louise and Shane

Everyone's on stage, singing a wee tune :)

Oh yep, that's me in my sexy maid dress :)

All the household staff singing 'High Society'

Soooo excited!!  Possibly my favourite webpage in the world, Deb's Creations, is starting a CYBERCROP tonight!  All thanks to the lovely Challenge Chics, especially Lisa K for organising! Unfortunately my theatre production High Society is starting tonight at Gold Coast Little Theatre, so I can't be online from the very start :(

But I'm still freakishly excited!  This is my first cybercrop and it sounds fantastic :)

Can't wait can't wait can't wait can't wait can't wait can't wait can't wait can't wait can't wait!!

Emily's New Addition Page

Monday, 23 March 2009 - 5:30pm

Today has been quite productive!  Well, firstly there was school of course, but then I got home afterwards and finished my baby LO for Emily!  It is very Winnie the Pooh themed - I just adore the PP they sell at my local shop :)

I would have a piccy here for you all to have a looksie, but unfortunately the camera is dead, and until I charge the batteries (I really need to do that more often :D) you'll just have to wait!

Finished Invites :)

Saturday, 21 March, 2009 - 5:00pm
OK. Here is one of my b'day invites for 2009 :D

I used the letter 'M' for the recipient Maddi :D
The light was pretty dodgy - there's a storm headed towards the Gold Coast I believe...  So here it is.

I hope you like it!

The invite, take one :)

Close-up of letter and flower layering :)

The finished product!

Just getting ready to begin my invites when I think, Hmm, I'd better put my hair up!  So I toodle on in to the bathroom and am pulling my hair into a ponytail when SNAP.  Something in my neck cracks and I am writhing in agony :S

So now, I sit here, unable to move my head whatsoever, contemplating exactly how I am going to do these invites in this state.  But now I am also thinking how stupid I have to be to crack my neck while brushing my hair!  Yes, I am a wally :D

So all in all, I'm not too bad, I guess, I'm not dead, just injured.  I will find a way to do these suckers TODAY!  :D

And for anyone who has seen the latest Burgen bread ad...

I'll keep you posted.

Invites :)

Saturday, 21 March, 2009 - 8:30am
Hey guys!

Today I'm focusing on my birthday party invitations. I'm having a gig in early April and better get my act together!

I'm using KaiserCraft Be Mine paper, American Craft Thickers Rootbeer Float (I luuuuurve Thickers - I'm addicted!) and a card design I found in Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft, Vol. 13, No. 12. I'll keep you posted, hopefully uploading a couple images before I knock off tonight!

My other account died on me so here's to a successful-ish new blog!!

Anyway, for those who don't know me, my name is Cass. I am 13.92 years old (approximately :D), turning 14 in April this year and am maaaaad about scrapping :) I live on the Gold Coast with (at different times) my mum and my brothers, and my dad and his partner Renee. I hope that you all enjoy this blog and keep visiting!
